Chenna Kesava Reddy (1928-1996) was an Indian film director and producer who worked predominantly in Telugu cinema. He was born in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. He started his career as a director with the film "Kula Gotralu" in 1962 which was a huge critical and commercial success. He went on to direct several other successful films such as "Bangaaru Babu" (1973), "Mayadari Malligadu" (1973), "Tirupati" (1974), "Chilipi Krishnudu" (1977) and "Mangala Gowri" (1980) among others.
Apart from directing films, Chenna Kesava Reddy also produced several successful films like "Bhakta Kannappa" (1976), "Dana Veera Soora Karna" (1977), "Seethakoka Chiluka" (1981) and "Punjabi House" (1998). He was known for his unique storytelling style, strong characterizations and the ability to deliver box office hits consistently. In recognition of his contributions to the Telugu film industry, Chenna Kesava Reddy was honored with several awards including the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award and the Nandi Award for Best Director. He passed away in 1996 at the age of 68.
